Product Certification
Activity that demonstrates that specified requirements relating to a product are fulfilled. This activity can be performed by 1st parties (supplier), 2nd parties (purchaser) or 3rd party bodies (bodies independent from manufacturer, designer, service, maintenance etc.). In many situations it is necessary to have an opinion or decision of an independent 3rd party CertificationBody in order to get a neutral objective answer to a particular question (s).

Responsible manufacturers submit their products to a 3rd party Certification & assessment body. The services of third party bodies for inspection, testing, certification and other conformity assessment (CA) tasks are essential when manufacturers and distributors need to show the conformity of their products or production to their clients, society or authorities. The products are tested, inspected and certified and the manufacturing is subject to periodical surveillance undertaken by the 3rd party Certification Body. Products fulfilling the requirements are certified as per applicable Product Standard(s).
